Art Still is the Mt. Holly Pro Day inductee for 2015. Born December 5, 1955 in Camden, New Jersey, Art attended Camden High School where he was a star basketball and football player. A towering player standing 6' 7", he played with great passion and intelligence. He was the star of the Golden Panthers football varsity team. He graduated from Camden High School in 1974. His outstanding talent took him to the University of Kentucky. The Wildcats had a good team during the mid-1970s and Art was a big part of their success. In 1976, the Wildcats took the Southeast Conference crown, and in 1977 the team finished at 10-1 and ranked #6 in the final AP poll. Still was such a defensive stalwart that, by the end of his Kentucky career, opposing teams literally stopped running plays to his side of the field. Art was a four year starter and was the SEC Player of the Year as a senior. Art was the second player overall chosen in the 1978 NFL Draft—selected by the Kansas City Chiefs. Wearing #67, he quickly adapted to the three-point stance as a traditional defensive end with the Chiefs, earning all-rookie honors and winning a starting job his first season. Art was an incredible force against the run and an unstoppable pass rusher. As the Chiefs rose under coach Marv Levy, Still blossomed. In 1986, the Chiefs made it back to the playoffs where Art was the veteran leader of a young defense that included Pro Day honoree Deron Cherry. Still made four Pro Bowl trips for the Chiefs, led the team in sacks six times during his 10 years in Kansas City, and is the team’s second leading all-time tackler, with 992 career stops. The Chiefs traded Art to the Buffalo Bills in 1988. He was the starting left end on division-winning teams in 1988 and 1989. Art retired prior to the 1990. His NFL stats include:
Today, Art is a sales executive for Sterile Environment Technologies (SET3). He and his wife Liz live in Missouri. They have eleven children and eleven grandchildren. We salute Art for his achievements on and off of the football field!
