MTA (Microsoft Technology Associate) certifications were retired by Microsoft as`of June 2022.
The replacement credential for MTA is Microsoft Fundamentals certifications. Fundamentals credentials are entry-level, role-based certifications and are available for Azure, Security, Microsoft 365 and Power Platform.
Microsoft Fundamentals certification is a good starting point for anyone new to`Information Technology (IT) and lacking foundational technical skills. A Microsoft Fundamentals certification is earned by passing a single exam in the preferred focus (Azure, Security, Microsoft 365 and Power Platform).
Fundamental certifications do`not expire. Earning Microsoft Fundamentals certification is also a good first step upon which to advance to Microsoft Associate certifications .
