Our curriculum includes hands-on, instructor-led training classes for A+, Network+, Security+, CISSP, SSCP, SCNP, SCNA.

ONLC Training Centers provides training at our more than 300 locations coast to coast. Not near one of our centers? Attend these same live classes from your home/office PC via our Remote Classroom Instruction (RCI) technology.

We can also provide onsite DoD 8570 training classes for companies that need to train a large number of employees.

DoD 8570 GENERAL DETAILS

Department of Defense ( DoD ) Directive 8570.1 requires every full and part-time military service member, defense contractor and civilian employee with privileged access to US Department of Defense information systems (IS) to obtain industry certification credentials that have been accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Information Assurance Technical (IAT) and IA Management (IAM) personnel
must be fully trained and certified by the year 2010 to baseline certification
requirements to perform their IA duties.

The training, certification and workforce management requirements of Directive 8570.01-M apply to all members of the DoD IA workforce including military, civilians, local nationals, Non-appropriated fund (NAF) personnel, and contractors. The requirements apply whether the duties are performed full-time, part-time, or as embedded duty.

An individual needs to obtain only one of the “approved certifications” for his or her IA category or specialty and level to meet the minimum requirement.

Technical (IAT) Level certifications are cumulative. Higher level certifications qualify for lower level requirements.

The System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification qualifies for both Technical Level I and Technical Level II. If the individual holding this certification moved from an IAT Level I to an IAT Level II position, he or she would not have to take a new certification.

Management (IAM) Level certifications corresponding to the position level do not cascade down. Each position requires the individual to meet one of the specific certifications associated with that Management Level. An IAM I should not take the CISSP unless already qualified for a certification listed in the IAM I box. However, if an individual already possesses an IAM II or III level certification prior to being assigned to IAM I position, they may use that certification in lieu of the IAM I requirement.
