Mimio

The Mimio system is composed of a capture bar, marker holders, eraser, and software.  We are using both the new XI model (grey) and Classic (blue).

The capture bar is suction-cupped to the white board.  It should be placed in a vertical orientation on the left side of the board near the top.  The cable should attach at the bottom of the capture bar.  The capture bar is connected to the instructor’s computer with an USB or Serial cable.

The marker holders transmit when pressed to write.  If you listen carefully while writing you can hear the clicking sound made by the transmitter.  The eraser has a small and large surface for erasing.  If a marker is not transmitting or the eraser is not erasing the AAA battery may be worn out.  Usually you can tell because you can’t hear the clicking sound.

The Mimio Notebook software should be installed on the instructor pc.  There might be an icon in the system tray -  or you may need to go to the Start button and look for Mimio Studio under All Programs.  It looks like this:
