GoToMeeting

This is a WebEx, LiveMeeting style web-based meeting product hosted by Citrix.  The advantage of GoToMeeting is that, being web-based, it will work through firewalls and thus is required when we include students from outside of our owned sites.

The other reason to use GoToMeeting is if we need to include more than one or two other sites.  Currently Philadelphia and Princeton do not have the capability to conference call three or more sites.  GoToMeeting includes a conference bridge capability.

GoToMeeting must be installed on the instructor’s PC.  It should have been installed as part of the setup but if not then you’ll need to do so.  You can run the file from our ftp site: ftp://www2.onlc.com/goto/G2MInstallerExtractor.exe or go to http://www.gotomeeting.com and install from there.  Our login is: meet@onlc.com / 300Delaware.

The system tray icon for GoToMeeting is this:  A right-click will pop up the context menu to allow you to begin a meeting.  Choose Meet Now… to start a meeting.  Use meet@onlc.com for the email and 300Delaware for the password if not automatically logged in.

Click the “Show My Screen” so other meeting attendees can see your computer.

Give other students the information on the meeting as displayed in the Invite Others tab.

To set up a conference call with the meeting, click the edit button in the meeting info section and select the “Provide conference call information” checkbox.

If you want to change the name that is displayed for the meeting you can choose File, Edit your Name and Email… from the GoToMeeting application menu.
